Soft: Soft contact lenses are made from flexible plastic that allows oxygen to pass through to the eyes. Soft contact lenses come in a variety of wearing options.
Daily Wear: Designed to be removed each day for cleaning, and should be taken out before sleeping. These lenses usually last 6 months to 1-½ years.
Daily Wear Disposable: Soft lenses designed for single use, removed before sleeping and discarded.
Extended Wear: Can usually be worn up to seven days without removal but is not recommended for all.
Frequent and planned replacement: Lenses that are replaced on a planned schedule, usually every two weeks, monthly, or quarterly.
Rigid Gas Permeable (RGP): Made of special firm plastic that allows the most oxygen to pass through to the eye. RGP’s come in daily and extended wear varieties and are often better suited for people with a high degree of astigmatism or severe dry eye.
